Seville, the capital and largest city of Andalusia, is one of the most interesting cities of the entire Iberian Peninsula. Until recently, Seville was associated in Poland with two football clubs, and today, thanks to the offer of low-cost airlines, more and more tourists decide to visit this historic place. The capital of Andalusia is one of the most monument-filled cities in Spain. During the visit, we can visit, among others: the impressive gothic cathedral, fabulous villas and palaces, the oldest royal residence in the world (Alcázar), baroque churches, one of the oldest bullfighting arenas in Spain and much, much more. Walking around the old town, we come across historic villas, palaces and churches. The facades of many of them are decorated with azulejo tiles, which are popular throughout the Iberian Peninsula. Even so, it’s hard not to get the impression that many of the buildings are very neglected, which on the one hand highlights the history of the city, but on the other hand spoils the impression a bit compared to, for example, the amazing white towns of Andalusia. Seville is also filled with historic taverns and pubs, where we can eat delicious tapas dishes and drink local wine, and the bartender will write down the payment on the counter in front of us.
